Opinion Saturday

It's Opinion Saturday again, time to announce the next Golden Keyboard Contest. The challenge this week is to write your own "I Am From." To give you a little thinking time, I'm going to run this contest until Friday evening. I'll announce the winner next Saturday morning.

Now, for the format: here's the blank form, to copy and paste into your own word program to work on. The original idea (I think) came from here: Fragments From Floyd. Be sure to go read that, because there you'll find more detailed instructions and links to others who have done this.

Speaking of links: during the week, as you complete yours, come back and give me a link, and I'll add your name to the bottom of this post as additional inspiration to others still working on theirs. Also during the week, I'll be posting the ones my teenagers wrote!

Sound fun? I hope so. And don't be intimidated by this. It's actually a very forgiving and inspiring format. Even if your past was not perfect, with some thought you too can come up with a great little collection of memories to share with your children.

Hey, Mary,
I did my own version earlier, but since you posted a link to the formal template, I wrote another one using that. You can find it here,

I hope I did that right. If not, visit me and it's up now. :)

I'm too late for your contest-- but it looked too fun to pass up, so I did it anyway. Thanks for sharing this idea-- I asked my husband to do one and I'm going to have all of the kids do one as well.
