Sigh... (Those with weak stomachs, escape now)

This afternoon my 14 yo came to me and said, "I just had a bad thought. I hope I don't get sick while my jaw is wired shut."

I looked at him wide-eyed. That thought had not occurred to me. "Oh...I hope not either."

This evening, the baby threw up.

We have to be at the hospital to get his jaw wired shut at 9:30 tomorrow morning.

Praying...and weary.

Mary, I have been praying for your family. The next weeks are certainly going to be a trying time. Know that many are praying for your son.

OK, I had a friend that had her son's jaw wired shut (for something). He had to carry wire cutters with him 24 hours a day, in case that happened. I am NOT kidding....

This is something to definitely talk to the doc's about before they do the wiring.

Good luck. I hope it goes smoothly tomorrow.

I'm sure they have some sort of provision for that...for you nerves, I'm not so sure! Hey, just noticed the blog award in your sidebar! Not sure how long it's been there, but congrats!

Anesthesia sometimes causes vomiting, thus the no eating before surgery, so they must be used to addressing this issue. Ask! My older kids seem to get sick less often than my younger ones. Hopefully this is true for yours!

Mary, hang in there. I've been praying for you guys and I'm sure things will turn out fine :)

Will be thinking of you today and praying that everything runs smoothly. I would suggest asking the doctors all those questions before the surgery, I'm sure they can set your mind at ease :)
