Lazy day...
We're having a nice mellow Sunday here. We barbecued after church. Dad and the kids swam for awhile this afternoon. I took some pictures of them splashing. Then I did some photo editing while listening to this (which I read about at Amy’s Humble Musings and at Enjoy the journey.) Wow...thought provoking.I wanted to show you this adorable little bag made by my 16 year old. She made it from scraps left from cutting a pair of jeans down for shorts. She wove the strap herself, and stitched the word 'Aloha' on the front of the bag, and added a couple of beads for button fasteners. Fun when a kid can get an idea and come up with a neat project like this without paying a cent.

That's an awesome purse, and all the more precious for having done it herself!
that's such a great job!
Very creative, quite the fashionista!
I LOVE IT! Tell her great job.
Love the bag---glad you listened to Voddie, wasn't that thought provoking?
I think I'm going to listen to it again a second time.
I think it would be great for more pastors, youth pastors and parents to listen to that message, Amy. We're blessed to be a part of a church that celebrates children and large families, and a youth program that sees its job as a help to the parents, but so many are as described by the pastor speaking.
Thanks for sharing the link.
Don't you love it when one of your kids shows a creative streak like this? What a sweet purse and you know she's sooo proud of it. She should be!
Great purse!
As for Voddie's sermon, I feel very grateful to be part of a church that still loves and promotes large families. :o)

Very cute. I forwarded your link to Crystal Breeze only to realize she'd already commented!! She's all into the homemade craft things.
OK- I am addicted to purses...its a funny thing about me that people find surprising- because I don't come across that way- but My mom and sister and I all love them- and even have a saying when we are together "gotta getta bag!" So- I loved this post! Could she make me a nice big denim diaper bag??? I found when I came home with the boys we were missing a few things- diaper pail, diaper bag, bottles, diapers...was kind of funny actually- walking around in a daze with a poopy diaper in my hand wondering if I should really put it in the kitchen garbage can...seriously- she could sell those on ebay!
so cute!
You daughter did a great job - very cool!
She did a GREAT job!!!! And I have a feeling that's going to get a lot of compliments! : ) Very impressed!
what talent she has! it's lovely!
What a cute purse! I can't believe that she wove the strap herself--great job!
